During the ongoing war and the deep humanitarian crisis in the north of the Gaza Strip, Al-Amal Society for Women and Child continues to provide a vital lifeline through the operation of its semi-automatic bakery, producing and distributing fresh bread every day to displaced families.
The work begins before sunrise. Flour is carefully sourced, measured, and prepared, while the bakery team readies the ovens under challenging conditions. Through a semi-automatic process, dough is mixed, shaped, and baked with consistency and care, ensuring that each loaf meets basic quality and hygiene standards despite limited resources.
Once baked, the bread is sorted, packed, and prepared for immediate distribution. Trucks then carry the bread to displacement camps across northern Gaza, where families gather daily, waiting for a simple necessity that has become increasingly scarce.
For many displaced households, this bread is more than food; it is stability in uncertain days and reassurance that someone is still working to meet their basic needs. Through this daily effort, Al-Amal Society continues to uphold dignity and resilience, delivering sustenance and hope one loaf at a time.
