Amid the ongoing war and the harsh reality of displacement in the north of the Gaza Strip, Al-Amal Society for Women and Child continues to protect childhood through its monthly Child Friendly Spaces (CFS) projects in displacement camps.
The story begins with preparing the space itself. Safe areas are identified, cleaned, and carefully arranged to become welcoming environments where children can feel secure. Educational and recreational materials are brought in, organized, and set up to support learning, play, and emotional expression. Every detail is considered, knowing that these simple elements can restore a sense of normalcy to young lives shaped by fear and uncertainty.
Once the space is ready, children gather to participate in structured activities, games, and psychosocial support sessions led by trained facilitators. Laughter slowly replaces silence, and creativity finds its way back into small hands.
For children growing up amid war and displacement, these spaces offer more than activities. They provide safety, emotional relief, and the chance to learn and grow with dignity. Through its monthly CFS projects, Al-Amal Society continues to nurture resilience and protect childhood; one safe space at a time.
